Sounds like the start to a Hallmark movie - or more appropriately for this couple a German Fairytale.
Germany boasts several quaint folklore origin stories (albeit a little darker than the Disney versions): Rapunzel, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood to name a few. Now we can add my Carpenter and Florist to the list.
If you have read my previous blog post, you know that I am all about spontaneity. The universe is listening because within a week I had a DM on Instagram from a couple in Maui looking to add an impromptu elopement to their stay on Oahu.
Having just gotten engaged on Haleakala during their trip - they wasted no time on engagement and were ready to take the plunge into matrimony.

Adorned with a haku lei of her own creation and rings made of wood, they exchanged vows in German. While I understood about two words out of vow exchange, it wasn’t hard to understand them - their faces said it all. Teary eyed and full of love, I later had the privilege of reading a translated version of their vows which then drove me to tears.
I am so happy to have connected with the lovely couple and I am so excited to watch their journey on Instagram (as they build and create their home in Germany).
